A high-strength rinse-off facial peel that combines a total of 32% free acids — 30% alpha-hydroxy acids (glycolic, lactic, tartaric, and citric) plus 2% beta-hydroxy acid (salicylic acid). The AHAs work on the surface to dissolve the bonds holding dead skin cells together, dramatically smoothing texture and brightening tone in a single 10-minute application. The salicylic acid is oil-soluble, allowing it to penetrate into pores to clear congestion and target blackheads. The formula is supported by hyaluronic acid crosspolymer, pro-vitamin B5, black carrot extract (an antioxidant), and a Tasmanian Pepperberry derivative chosen specifically to dampen the irritation potential of such a high acid load.

The pH is calibrated to approximately 3.6 — close to glycolic acid's pKa of 3.83 — for maximum acid availability. This is the strongest at-home peel The Ordinary makes and is suitable only for experienced acid users on healthy, intact skin. Sun sensitivity warning: this product significantly increases skin's sensitivity to UV and the risk of sunburn during use and for one week afterwards — daily broad-spectrum SPF is non-negotiable. Conflicts: do not use in the same routine as 100% Niacinamide Powder, peptides, retinoids, or pure-form Vitamin C. Maximum twice per week, evening only, no longer than 10 minutes per application.
